I’m In The Mood For Dancing

Over the last week, I’ve been very busy. First of all, I’ve had lots of college work, in particular practicing for my chemistry practical come up soon. We’re doing a titration to find the concentration of hydrochloric acid, as well as this, recently I’ve had quite a high general workload. Last Saturday, at the Maths Masterclasses last week, we were lectured about the maths of finances and financial banking and the next masterclass is tomorrow.

On Wednesday, Jasmin returned to the vets to have a check up. The scabs on her back have, thankfully, now almost completely healed and the vet was pleased with her progress. Yesterday, I was at the vet’s doing work experience, it was not very busy but unfortunately, due to such a busy week, it was the only evening I had free. Amongst the animals who visited where; a diabetic cat which had broken its tooth in a fight and is having the root removed next week, a post-op check after a bitch spay and a cat with a scratched eye.

For nearly two and a half years, I, along with a few of my friends, have been having lessons in Ballroom and Latin American dancing. We have lessons every Friday evening but they had stopped over Christmas. Since there are fewer men in the class than women, I alternate between dancing the male and female parts of the dances. Tonight, due mainly to illness, there we’re even fewer people than usual so I danced as a man the whole evening! My partner is my friend Natasha and we danced a tango and a foxtrot, which are generally considered the hardest ballroom dances, but are my favourites to dance. Dancing the man’s part adds the additional complication of having to lead your partner, something I’m gradually gaining the strength and understanding to do. I like a challenge, and this definitely is one!
